The culture is built around a few durable principles:

SEEK TRUTH

Separate fact, interpretation, rumor, and opinion.

ASK BEFORE TAKING

Respect time, labor, expertise, property, boundaries, stories, and privacy.

TRADE FAIRLY

Exchange should preserve dignity.

HONOR EXPERTISE

Professional knowledge has value.

GIVE FREELY WHEN YOU CHOOSE TO GIVE

A gift does not secretly create debt.

DO NOT CONFUSE GENEROSITY WITH ENTITLEMENT

Access once does not mean permanent access.

ACCEPT CORRECTION

Wisdom requires reconsideration.

CORRECT WITHOUT HUMILIATING

Accountability should improve rather than dominate.

PROTECT CHILDREN

Adults carry greater responsibility.

KEEP YOUR WORD

Reliability creates trust.

COMPETE WITHOUT DEHUMANIZING

Competition should strengthen people without destroying belonging.

RESPECT DIFFERENCES

Unity does not require uniformity.

LEAVE SOMETHING BETTER

Ideally every interaction produces more truth, wisdom, courage, beauty, skill, or connection than existed before.

LOVE IS THE FINAL TEST

If faith, intelligence, strength, status, money, doctrine, or influence makes us less capable of loving God and neighbor, we have missed the mark. 

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

We do not define success solely by:

wealth • attention • status • followers • prestige • winning • appearance

These may be useful tools.

WHAT WOULD JESUS DO?

For me, that means service before status, truth without cruelty, mercy without abandoning accountability, protection of the vulnerable, courage in the face of wrongdoing, forgiveness where possible, and a willingness to personally carry part of another person’s burden.

Participation in this community does not require sharing religious beliefs.

Our civic common ground is broader.

The Pledge of Allegiance ends with a remarkable promise:

”…with liberty and justice for all.”

Those words mean very little nationally if we cannot practice them locally.

“For all” means the talented kid and the struggling kid.
The popular family and the newcomer.
The coach and the parent.
The volunteer and the person asking for help.
 The person we agree with and the person we don’t.

THE MORAL FOUNDATION

I believe some principles are more than personal preferences.

Truth matters.
Children deserve protection.
People possess inherent dignity.
Promises create obligations.
Power creates responsibility.
Fairness matters.
Exploitation is wrong.
Courage matters when remaining silent would permit harm.

We will inevitably disagree about facts, priorities, parenting, coaching, politics, religion, and solutions.

That does not require moral chaos.

We can disagree while remaining bound by standards governing how we treat one another.
